rains

So it rains! So begins the rain, the cold season snaps open, the weather reigns.

But how I long, how much I long for the sensual days of rain, when every outbreak of life had its own peculiar meaning, where I sheltered in the dark of stables from life’s tropic rains, a reign of real rain, of merciless rain, violent rain, falling on tins roofs. Today’s rain, almost senile, falls without reaching us. I prefer that which said “all belongs to me” in smell and texture and mad sensations. Fierce rains once swarming.
