I wish to pay respects now, to the right wingers (in all of their shapes and contortions), without whose extremely driven, anxious and determined persuasive tactics, I might still be one of them today.
First and primarily, I would like to pay my regards to those Rhodesians who fought through thick and thin to convince me that the ideology they held dear has no place in the contemporary world. To you I offer my utmost condolences!
Next, I would like to offer my utmost appreciation to my parents who sought, on one sultry night to convince me that “you are disgusting to us!” AND “You can’t even speak properly. You can’t be an intellectual!” To you I attribute my whole motivation for the PhD course I am now determined to complete.
Finally, and not least, I thank all of the internet interlocutors over the ages who have felt stumped by some of my more creative modes of expression, decrying my use of metaphors and other aspects of speech which “make no sense”: I salute you! Without responding to your concerted efforts I would not have had cause to look more deeply into intellectual works which on the surface only appear to “make no sense”. I thank, among others, Billy Trickery and and various Neechy enthusiasts, for failing to see the point after all these years!
So, thank you, thank you, and thank you too to all the christians who have seen fit to either intervene at various points only to tell me that I’m a sinner, or to turn your blind eyes bashfully in my direction.
It is to you all that I owe my revolutionary tendencies.
